One of the most important skills for musical confidence is the ability to sight-read. It is also one of the least practiced, least trained skills in the musician’s palette. Because of this, many musicians of all ages feel uncomfortable when confronted with a situation where sight-reading is necessary.
Our goal At First Sight is to give young musicians the tools to sight-read easily, efficiently and with confidence. Through a mixture of educational methods, from lectures to demonstrations to hands-on experience, students overcome the fear of sight-reading, and become stronger players and musical leaders. |
