Chamber Music Weekend

InSight, the junior division of AFS, focuses on building the skills needed to enjoy playing chamber music. It is open to young players who are learning to read music, and who already have some command of their instruments, typically ages 9 through 12, although there will be some both older and younger who will benefit from InSight.

InSight helps students to read music better, to gain confidence in their ability to play with others, and to work together to make beautiful music. Skills and repertoire classes, theory and music-reading games, and Dalcroze Eurythmics-based movement classes will help each child improve his personal musical skills.

InSight's emphasis on responding to the One Who gives us the gift of music, and sharing that gift in performance, focuses the efforts of the young students. It encourages gratefulness for the ability to make music, and for the privilege of bringing joy to others.
